A warrant Police Officer used service pistol to shoot at a violent and stubborn cow
Independent Police Investigative Directorate (IPID) is investigating a case of discharge of fire arm. It is alleged that in the afternoon of Friday 24 September 2021 at Makitsa Village in Venda Limpopo, a group of 3 men were in a cattle crawl trying to slaughter a cow which was reported to be violent and stubborn.
It is alleged Cell visits were properly done. On the 2021/09/15 at about 12:25 when lunch was served by Two police officers, they noticed that the deceased hung himself on the burglar door using his jersey.
It is alleged that the bullet missed the cow and hit at the 38year old man who was with them in the cattle crawl. An ambulance was called and the victim was transported and admitted in Louis Trichardt Hospital. The cow was to be used for a traditional ceremony by a client who had bought it before the incident. IPID is investigation and the fire arm used to shoot at the cow was collect as part of the evidence.
