Suspended IPID Chief Director had his case dismissed by The Labour Court on 29 June 2016

The Independent Police Investigative Directorate (IPID) Acting Executive Director Mr Israel Kgamanyane has noted the outcome of the dismissal of a case of Mr Matthews Sesoko.

Mr Sesoko Lodged an urgent application with the labour court seeking an interim order staying of disciplinary proceedings instituted by the employer pending the outcome of the Gauteng High court Pretoria Division, Constitutional validity challenge of section 6(4) of the Independent Police Investigative Directorate Act.

Mr Sesoko together with the Executive Director of IPID, Mr Robert McBride and Mr Innocent Khuba, the now dismissed Provincial Head of Limpopo were accused of unlawfully altering a report into the alleged illegal rendition of Zimbabwean Nationals during November 2010 and January 2011.

Mr Sesoko’s application has since been dismissed with costs limited to only one counsel.
