A Police Constable was arrested for assaulting wife: assault common

Independent Police Investigative Directorate is investigating a case of Assault Common. It is alleged that on 22 October 2021 at about 19h54 the victim was at home with friends when the suspect Constable police officer arrived and handed their son to him.

The suspect blockef the vehicle which was used by the victim and his friends. The suspect slapped the victim with open hands several times. The victim managed to ran away to Tweespruit police station to report the incident. The victim and suspect are no longer staying together.

The Police officer was then arrested and his fire arm was confiscated. The suspect was detained at Selosesha police station. He will appear at Excelsior Magistrate court on 25 October 2021.
