IPID secures a murder conviction in the Nothern Cape

The independent Police Investigative Directorate (IPID) has secured a murder conviction in the Springbok Regional court.

Constable Siphiwe Ngcebetshane has been found guilty of murder in the Springbok Regional court on 01 August 2016 and sentenced to Eight (8) years direct imprisonment.

This follows a shooting resulting from an argument between a Constable and the Deceased on 18 November 2009. The Constable attended a domestic Violence complaint where he was threatened to be stabbed with a knife by the Deceased to leave his premises.

The constable then went for his weapon then shot and killed the Deceased on the spot.
