IPID secured X3 life sentences and 307 years imprisonment against 5 Police Officers

The IPID through its successful investigation managed to secure a sentence of 5 Police Officers from Mondoer Police Station with each of them receiving 3 terms of life imprisonment and an additional 307 years of imprisonment on 64 counts of cases ranging from Murder, Attempted murder, Unlawful possession of unauthorised explosives and escape from Lawful custody. The Police officers were sentenced on 23 October 2014.

On a separate occasion Two Police Constable from Hammanskraal Police Station were each sentenced to Life Imprisonment on a case of Rape and another one of Robbery with aggravating circumstances. The officers were declared unfit to possess firearms. The officers were sentenced on 03 March 2015.
