IPID secured high conviction on two counts of murder

The Independent Police Investigative Directorate (IPID) is pleased by the work done by IPID investigators in securing conviction on two counts of murder. The accused who is a 28 year Constable from Durban was sentenced to Seventeen (17) years direct imprisonment after being convicted of shooting and killing two adult males in Biyela homestead, Emasangweni, Mellr district. The incident took place on the 21 December 2014 at 19:00. The accused has since been dismissed from SAPS in 2017. The Acting Executive Director Mr Victor Ofentse Senna and the KwaZulu Natal management greatly appreciates the hard work done by our Senior Investigator, Mr Sicelo Germinarro Lethela and his team on this case.
