IPID position on the woman beaten to a pulp by her Police Officer husband
The Brakpan Police Officer who brutally assaulted his wife was arrested by the Independent Police Investigative Directorate and SAPS last night. Images of the battered woman were doing rounds on social media since Wednesday. The officer was out on bail for the previous assault of the wife. His bail conditions were that he should not be in contact with the wife.
IPID assisted the wife to lay a second case against the police officer husband and the information will be used to apply to the courts to revoke his bail. He will appear at the Protea Magistrate Court on Monday 13 March 2023 for this latest assault case.
