IPID is investigating similar case to Khuli Chana, this time the victim was unlucky as she dies on the scene
IPID is investigating a murder case of Mrs Constance Mabula who is the wife to another police officer stationed at Sandton. It is alleged that yesterday 16 October, the deceased Mrs Constance Mabula had packed her car outside her cousin `s house in Pholomolong section of Rabie Ridge in Johannesburg when the police officer approached them and start firing shots at the deceased `s car.
The deceased was with 3 more people in the car and when the deceased `s male cousin go out of the car, police fired shoots and two people were injured and another victim was shot on leg while she was in her house by one of the bullets from the police outside the house, she was rushed to Tembisa hospital as well as the other victims who were in the car. The deceased died on the scene.
The victims were driving in a grey Ford Everest vehicle which was fired at as a result of mistaken identity according to the police. IPID is investigating a case of murder and attempted murder. Police involved are rom Edenvale Police Station and Rabie Ridge Police Station.
Investigation Status
- The case docket was opened with charge of Murder and three (3) Attempted Murder Charges to be added.
- Witnesses were interviewed; statements obtained and family were briefed with procedures that will be followed (like identification of the body and PM procedure).
- Members involved were identified their particulars were obtained and their firearms were handed in as exhibits.
- Ballistic expect was called and she conducted further investigations
