IPID investigates as case of death as a result of police action
The Independent Police Investigative Directorate (IPID) is investigating a case of death as a result of police action, this after on Saturday the 25 July 2020, two Parkview police officers were allegedly patrolling when they spotted the suspects busy stealing a minibus.
It is alleged that one of the suspects pointed a gun towards the police officers as they went to their vehicle and drove away. As alleged, shooting ensued and the three suspects were shot dead and one was arrested.
All police members have been ordered to book inn all the firearms to the police station.
It is alleged that the suspects were found in possession of one pistol, two jammers, house breaking implements, car breaking implements and a lot of different car keys as well as ignitions.
It is further alleged that the suspects were driving in a vehicle that has two false registration numbers.
The deceased were taken to Hillbrow Mortuary and the vehicle they were travelling on has been towed to the vehicle investigation unit.
