IPID arrest a Police Constable for rape

The Independent Police Investigative Directorate (IPID) has arrested a Police Constable for raping two young Girls in Upington in the Northern Cape. It is alleged that the two victims aged 13 and 15 respectfully were raped on the 02 January 2016 at a House in Paballelo by a Constable based at KAKAMAS police station.

The police officer was arrested yesterday, appeared in the Upington Magistrate’s court this morning and the matter has been remanded to the 18 January 2016 for a formal bail application.

Investigation continues.
