Former Sergeant to be sentenced for the Kempton Park shooting of Jeanette Odendaal, Gauteng

The Kempton Park Regional Court will on 06 September 2013 sentence former Sergeant Manape Phineas Kgoale for the shooting of 45-year-old Jeanette Odendaal outside the Kempton Park SAPS.

It is alleged that the policeman shot dead Jeanette Odendaal after she crashed into a stationary police vehicle outside the Kempton Park police station on 26 April 2011. He was dismissed from the SAPS after being found guilty in a disciplinary hearing on 31 August 2011. At the time, former Sergeant Kgoale had said that he thought Odendaal was a hijacker or a car thief.
