Deputy Minister and IPID Head engages with aggrieved Police Officers
Deputy Police Minister, Mr Cassel Mathale, Deputy National Commissioner of SAPS Lt Gen Senthumule, IPID Executive Director, Ms Ntlatseng and the National Association of Democratic lawyers (NADEL) Deputy President, Mr M Motlou met with the concerned police officers from various provinces who alleged that they were dismissed unprocedurally for exposing acts of corruption, nepotism and harassment by the SAPS Management.
Addressing the concerned police officers in Bloemfontein today, Deputy Minister Mathale said the SAPS leadership have noted all concerns raised and will engage with other role players within SAPS and will communicate with them afterwards. The Minister further urged the concerned police officers not to lose themselves but uphold the law despite the position the find themselves in. IPID Executive Director, Ms Ntlatseng said IPID will continue to investigate all acts of corruption and GBV cases. All labour related cases will be managed by NADEL, which has assembled the team to look into the concerns and will treat each case on its merit.
