YEAR OLD LEARNER, TUMAHOLE, FREE STATE -
TUMAHOLE CAS 72/08/2012

The Independent Police Investigative Directorate
(IPID) is investigating the rape of a 16 year
old female in Tumahole, Free State.
It is alleged that on 27 August 2012 at about
01:30 the victim was walking in the street
looking for her boyfriend. A vehicle with two
males, one of whom was known to the victim,
stopped and the occupants offered the learner a
lift. The person who is known by the victim was
dropped off at his place of residence and the
driver (who was unknown to the victim) drove to
his place of residence with the victim. This
male person allegedly raped the victim at his
place of residence. The victim discovered that
her alleged rapist is a policeman in the morning
when he left for work.
The mother of victim reported her as missing at
Tumahole SAPS and she was traced the next day in
the afternoon. The victim reported that she was
raped and a case docket was opened on the 29
August 2012 as per Tumahole CAS 72/08/2012.
Medical attention was arranged for the victim.
The case is still being investigated. No arrests
have been made.
