SAPS Sergeant to Appear in Court for the Shooting of a 15 Year old Teenager in Rhelela, Limpopo

Pretoria - 04 September 2014

A police sergeant attached to the SAPS Tzaneen Dog Unit will appear before the Bolobedu Magistrates Court tomorrow in relation to the shooting and death on 26 January 2014 of a 15 year old teenager, Tshepo Baloyi from Rhelela in Limpopo. The shooting incident occurred at the time when the local community were engaged in a protest action sparked by the suspected ritual killing of a young female in the area.

Mpumalanga Police Constable sentenced to 15 years imprisonment for the murder - Pilgrims Rest Cas 06/03/2013

Pretoria - 04 September 2014

An Independent Police Investigative Directorate (IPID) investigation has led to the conviction and sentencing on Wednesday, 27 August 2014 of a police constable, Richwell Request Nyakane on charges of murder and abandonment of a child. The Nelspruit High Court convicted and sentenced the policeman to 15 years imprisonment for the murder of his former lover who was also the mother of his child.

Free State Police Constables convicted for assault common Bultfontein CAS 36/02/2014

Pretoria - 06 August 2014

A 32 year old police constable, Petrus Zwane from Bultfontein SAPS in the Free State was convicted and sentenced for assaulting Mr April Manase (25) at Phahameng Satellite Police Station. The assault happened inside the police station premises on 02 February 2014.

Police Constable sentenced for murder, discharge of firearm and burglary - Maokeng CAS 200/11/2009 and Maokeng CAS 201/11/2009

Pretoria - 06 August 2014

An IPID investigation has led to the conviction and sentencing of 33 year old police Constable Tokolo Puntsa Chala from Maokeng in the Free State. The Kroonstad Magistrates Court found the policeman guilty of murder, discharge of a firearm and burglary on 5 August 2014. [Read More]
