The aim of the Independent Police
Investigative Directorate (IPID) is to
ensure independent oversight over the
South African Police Service (SAPS) and
the Municipal Police Services (MPS), and
to conduct independent and impartial
investigations of identified criminal
offences allegedly committed by members
of the SAPS and the MPS, and make
appropriate recommendations.

Female Constable arrested for corruption in Esikhawini, Kwazulu-Natal
Pretoria – 24 April 2013
30 year old Constable (f) Makhosi Providence Mkhwanazi,
stationed at Esikhawini Detective Services appeared in
the Esikhawini Magistrates Court on 23 April 2013 following
her arrest by the Independent Police Investigative Directorate
(IPID). The accused was granted R1000 bail. She will appear
again on 20 May 2013.

Sergeant sentenced to two (2) years imprisonment for culpable homicide
Pretoria – 22 April 2013
SAPS Sergeant Raymond Le Roux was today sentenced to
2 years imprisonment at the Palm Ridge High Court. The
sentence follows the accused’s conviction on a charge
of culpable homicide by the same court on 27 March 2013.
Sergeant Raymond Le Roux was arrested by the IPID following
the death of Mr. Rian Ramdin in Boksburg in February 2012
